I’ve lost 45 pounds!
It wasn’t easy and I’m not done. Losing weight has been a battle for me for as long as I can remember. I was overweight the majority of my growing years. I didn’t like how I looked or felt. I tried many diet plans and programs. I would lose weight but could never keep the pounds off. At one point, cosmetic surgery was an option. Not that I could afford it, but I was desperate.
After I had my Son, my weight fluctuated between 190-185lbs. At 5’2′, that was too much weight for me to ne carrying. I knew I needed and wanted to lose the weight but didn’t want to do what I did in the past. It was obvious that the way I was eating was keeping me overweight. So, first thing I did was create a food journal.
I wrote down what I ate daily for two weeks. Let me tell you, having a visual of your diet is an important tool when trying to lose weight, the visual is imperative. I took my journal and went through every food item and researched how it effected my weight. The majority of the foods I was eating was JUNK!
I would compare food research to an onion. Once you start peeling away at the information, it will make you cry. Everything I thought I knew about nutrition was completely wrong! Do you know how lost I felt? I felt bamboozled. But seriously, I was ready at that point to take control of my appearance.
I was hungry for information about nutrition…real, true information. I then came across Dr. Sebi. If you don’t know who he is, I suggest you start there. Dr. Sebi is a pathologist, herbalist, biochemist, and naturalist. He has studied and personally observed herbs in North America, Central and South America, Africa, and the Caribbean, and has developed a unique approach and methodology to healing the human body with herbs. Dr. Sebi, promoted a mucus reducing alkaline diet.
The Dr. Sebi’s Cell Foods Web site explained the basis for his approach this way.
Our research reveals that all manifestation of disease finds its genesis when and where the mucous membrane has been compromised. For example, if there is excess mucous in the bronchial tubes, the disease is Bronchitis; if it is in the lungs, the disease is Pneumonia; in the pancreatic duct, it is Diabetes; in the joints Arthritis. All of the African Biomineral Balance compounds are comprised of natural plants; which means its constitution is of an alkaline nature.
This is important—and instrumental in our success in reversing pathologies—because disease can only exist in an environment that is acid; thus it is inconsistent to utilize inorganic substances when treating disease because they are of an acid base. Only consistent use of natural botanical remedies will effectively cleanse and detoxify a diseased body, reversing it to its intended alkaline state.
Our system of nutrition goes even further. In addition to removing the accumulation of years of toxins, the African Biomineral Balance replaces depleted minerals and rejuvenates damaged cell tissue eroded by the acid, diseased state. The primary organs of elimination are the skin, liver, gall bladder, lymph glands, kidneys and the colon. If all toxins are eliminated from the above mentioned organs they will be recycled throughout the entire body, manifesting disease. Eventually the body breaks down in the weakest organs due to its inability to dispel the influence of toxins. The colon is the most important organ and must be cleansed by detoxifying before any disease can be reversed. If the colon is the only organ cleansed and detoxified the other major organs will be left toxic, thus leaving the disease in the body.
I didn’t only want to lose weight. I wanted to live a healthier life. It was important for me to be healthy not only for myself…but for my Son. I also watched documentaries on food and nutrition. I suggest watching “What In the Health”, a great film on facts about foods and our body.
Armed with all this new, refreshing information, I went to work. In the beginning of 2018, I decided to change the way I viewed food and life. Losing weight isn’t just about eating the right foods, I also had to change my lifestyle. I was working overnight, so I switched to a day time job. I use to drink heavy and go out on weekends. I ditched alcohol and chose to stay home more. I was notorious for eating fast-food. I detoxed by doing water fasts. Which got rid of those cravings for those processed, sugary foods. I also took pork, red meat and chicken out of my diet. I eat some fish from time to time. I eat fruits in the morning, because I read that some fruits aide in digestion. I am a bread and potatoes kinda girl, so going days or weeks without meat doesn’t bother me at all. Vegetables can be eaten raw or cooked, so the possibilities are endless.
People always ask me how I lost the weight. I tell them and I get a variety of reactions and responses. Losing weight is a personal, emotional journey. It should not be about looking good for a period of time. So many people get caught up in the diet trends and programs and they lose sight of what they could learn and become if they didn’t focus on just losing weight.
People just want to be told what to do, rather than go research the information themselves…and that is where they cheat themselves. The only way to be successful at something is to learn about it. Picking up a “Blah-Blah Diet” book and following the “Do’s and Don’t’s” of “this and that” if you don’t want to be fat, is not the way to go! There’s a whole market for these type of diets…and people fall for them…over and over and over. They may lose a few pounds but how long do those pounds stay away?
I ultimately did what was best for me. I took information from multiple resources that I trusted and created my own diet, that works for me. I even got inspired to get into holistic care. Which also inspired me to blog. I have a long way to go, but seven months into 2018 and I’ve lost 45lbs! I did it my way…THE BEST WAY.
